MARTA SZKODZIŃSKA
Owner, lawyer-linguist
Hello! My name is Marta Szkodzińska and I help my customers thrive by providing them with professional translations in different areas of specialization. I graduated with top grades with a bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics and a master's degree in German Studies from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In addition, I graduated with a master's degree in law from Jagiellonian University in Krakow. As for today, I constantly improve my skills and broaden my knowledge by participating in numerous courses and workshops conducted by experienced professionals.
However, it was several years of experience that taught me the most - how to highlight the best qualities of a given test, how to sure-footedly avoid language traps, how to deal with industry-specific terminology and assure its consistency and how to turn technology to my advantage.
Choosen courses I participated in were dedicated to documents in civil proceedings, legal terminology, software localization and machine translations. In 2014 I was awarded DSD II certificate whereas in 2018 I obtained SDL Postediting certificate.

In the translation process I always rely on my intuition as well as on professional background, both in linguistics and relevant area. My specialization are legal, technical and marketing German-to-Polish and English-to-Polish translations. I know the worth of consistent terminology, accuracy, on-time delivery and friendly atmosphere. The last one guarantees that our cooperation is no longer a necessity but a pleasure.
I stand for communication, safety of my customers and safisfaction of the end users – no matter what. I would never try to save time at the expense of my business partners – comprehensive customer service demands engagement.
Customer satisfaction is a gauge of my personal success – I always work together with my customers on a given project until they are happy. Sometimes it is the source text that needs to be rephrased but other times we just go for a bit more creative solutions in the target text. All in all, a literal translation is not always the best one, is it?
I'm always open to cooperate with both translation agencies that offer services in my areas of specialization and individual customers. If you have any questions, please contact me via the form below. I'll happily use the chance to dispel any doubts or present a cooperation offer.
